This is a quaking aspen that got damaged. The bark is white, with a powder that rubs off. If the bark is damaged, it grows in as black scar tissue. The leaves are dark green on top, silverish underneath. Even the gentlest breeze will 'rustle' the leaves, and flip them, from green to silver.
