Went down the road a few miles, and saw these closer to the road. If you look closely, you will see the desert variety of the Blackbakdor plant near that antelope on the right. The desert variety grows on a long, thin stalk, as opposed to the ground-hugging alpine variety shown here, on Independence Pass
