The Needles, 12 miles away. Use that 'blue haze' as guide to judge distances. As a rule of thumb, it starts showing at about 4 to 6 miles away. I would say this nearest ridge is right at 4 or 5 miles away - just a hint of blue. The one past it is across a canyon, and I'd guess 8 or 9 miles away. Out past the Needles you can see part of the Abajo Mountains.
